Black cherry, currant, eucalyptus and light cedar note
The Rademacher Vineyard is a small 1 acre vineyard farmed by a close friend Nina Woltering. It was planted by her mother in the late nineties and aptly bears her maiden name. It’s 100% Cabernet Sauvignon clone 337. It has never seen chemical applications. It’s planted on the western Sonoma Valley next to a Eucalyptus windbreak and a small creek rich with penny royal, black berry, herbs and many happy birds.
Produced at the Coturri Winery. This is a small pick in FYBs. Destemmed into open top fermenters, manual punch downs till dry and pressed to neutral oak barrels.
The position of the vineyard within the sonoma valley really has a beautiful affect on this wine. The back of the vineyard borders the cooler creek and eucalyptus lined nooks and seem to sing through the finished wine. Always beautiful clean bunches and gorgeous classic Cabernet notes here that make our elders think of Sonoma back in the day. The wine sees the longest time in barrel, mostly due to the higher acid of the Cabernet which likes more time to incorporate into the wine.
