Áureo

The same fruit from 2019 with less time on the skins makes this a fresh light rosé that's smashable and ready to roll out for the 2021 resurgence. Estate fruit, nice acid, sexy.

Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Bright lychee and strawberry lemonade.
Vineyard Notes
Olson Ranch was planted in 1994 by Phil Coturri. It is about 3.5 acres of cane pruned Merlot. Clone 181 Root Stock 5C. Gravelly loam clay soil. 500 ft elevation.
Production Notes
Produced at Magnolia Wine Services, the difference in equipment and process is staggering to 2019. Great fermentations through primary and secondary. No additions necessary.
Winemaker Notes
The direct press merlot juice was still soaked on chardonnay skins, but there was much less extraction as the chardonnay press was not destemmed (compared to 2019). The end result is a darker, dry rosé with bright popping acidity.
Food Pairing Notes
Blue cheese and vinaigrette salad with tangerine wedges.
