Olson Ranch was planted in 1994 by Phil Coturri. It is about 3.5 acres of cane pruned Merlot. Clone 181 Root Stock 5C. Gravelly loam clay soil. 500 ft elevation.
Destemmed, open top fermenters, punchdown 2-3 times daily until dry and gently pressed to neutral barrel to rest for 6 months. Racked to blend once and then racked again to homogenize for bottling.
In 2018 the fruit came in in three batches, separated by a couple days each with moderate ripening between each lot. 23-24 brix in one of the best years ever for fruit make this wine a no brainer.
